The genus name of the dandelion comes from the Greek word taraxos, which means disorder, and akos, which means remedy. As a symbol, the dandelion flower is the ultimate emblem for persistence and a strong will. It is also thought to represent wishes coming true, cheerful love, and general happiness.
Dandelions
My own two feet,
Standing.
Textures meeting
Underneath.
A cold, rough
Concrete greeting
At my heels.
Dandelions fleeting
At the edge
Of my toes.
A momentary glimpse,
A past
And future wish,
Carried by the wind,
Comes and goes.

Mary-Claire,
I truly loved your post, and the pictures of feet.
I tried wearing heels myself, but I can’t make them work.

He he Le Clown thanks!
I numb my feet with ice before and after each use and I never operate them alone. (Hope that helps.)

Lovely photo with the mirror… Such a personal ritual. (which I currently miss, not having a full-length mirror!).

Why thank you! I know, the ritual can be agonizing and fun at the same time.
